CR (Conversion Rate)

« Back to Glossary Index

Conversion Rate (CR) in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) is the percentage of clicks that result in conversions. It measures how effectively your campaigns turn engaged users into paying customers, subscribers, or leads.

Formula

CR = (Conversions ÷ Clicks) × 100

Why CR Matters

  • Funnel Effectiveness: CR shows how well your ads, landing pages, and offers align with user intent.
  • Profitability: Higher CR means more revenue from the same number of clicks.
  • Optimization Signal: CR helps identify weak links in the funnel—ads may attract clicks, but if CR is low, something downstream is broken.

How CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) Tracks CR

  • CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) automatically calculates CR whenever both clicks and conversions are recorded.
  • CR is shown at multiple levels: campaign, landing page, offer, traffic source, and tokens.

Example

If your campaign has 5,000 clicks and 200 conversions:

CR = (200 ÷ 5,000) × 100 = 4%

This means that 4% of users who clicked your ad converted into leads or sales.

Insights from CR

  • High CTR, Low CR: Ads are attractive, but landing page or offer isn’t converting.
  • Low CTR, High CR: Limited traffic, but highly aligned with the offer. Scaling could be very profitable.
  • CR by Token: One publisher ID may convert at 6%, another at 0%. Filtering poor performers improves overall CR.

Reporting in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One)

CR is highlighted in:

  • Campaign List: To quickly see performance at a glance.
  • Funnel Reports: To measure CR at each step (landing page → offer → conversion).
  • Drill-Down Reports: Segment CR by device, geo, keyword, or placement.

Best Practices

  • Always pair CR with CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) to measure true profitability.
  • Run A/B tests on landing pages to lift CR. Even a 1% increase can double profits at scale.
  • Segment CR by traffic source and token—optimize by cutting low-CR placements.
  • Don’t judge CR too early—small sample sizes can produce misleading numbers.

Advanced Use Case

For email opt-in funnels, you may have multiple CRs:

  • CTR → Landing Page (ad to page click).
  • Landing Page → Opt-in CR.
  • Opt-in → Sale CR.
    Tracking each step separately allows you to see exactly where drop-offs occur.

In summary, Conversion Rate in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) is the performance multiplier. It connects clicks to real outcomes and reveals the true efficiency of your marketing funnel.
