Affiliate Network Templates

« Back to Glossary Index

Affiliate Network Templates in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) are preconfigured setups for integrating affiliate networks with your campaigns. Just like traffic source templates, they eliminate the need to manually configure offer URLs, macros, and postback parameters. This ensures accurate conversion tracking and saves time when adding new offers.

Why They Matter

Every affiliate network has a different structure for tracking links and postbacks. One may use aff_sub={clickid}, while another uses s2={clickid}. If you misconfigure these tokens, CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) won’t be able to match conversions to clicks, leading to lost data and incorrect reporting. Templates solve this by providing the correct structure for each network.

How It Works

  1. Select Network Template: When adding an offer in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One), you choose the affiliate network from the template list.
  2. Offer URL Setup: CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) auto-fills the Offer URL with the correct token for passing the Click ID.
  3. Postback URL Setup: The system generates a ready-to-use postback URL that you paste into the affiliate network’s platform.
  4. Dynamic Payout Support: If the network provides variable payouts, the template includes the {payout} token so CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) records the actual revenue per conversion.

Example

Suppose you want to promote an offer from MaxBounty. Instead of manually creating the URL, you select “MaxBounty” from the template list. CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) generates:

Offer URL:

https://track.maxbounty.com/click?offerid=123&affid=456&subid={clickid}

Postback URL:

https://yourdomain.com/postback.php?cid={clickid}&payout={payout}

This ensures that Click IDs are passed correctly and conversions are reported with exact payout values.

Benefits

  • Saves Time: No need to manually research or enter macros.
  • Accuracy: Prevents common mistakes that lead to missing conversions.
  • Dynamic Payouts: Templates often support payout tokens automatically.
  • Standardization: Makes it easy to run offers from multiple networks consistently.

Updating Templates

Like traffic sources, affiliate networks occasionally update their tracking structures. CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) maintains its template library and allows you to create custom templates if your network isn’t listed.

Best Practices

  • Always test integrations by firing a test conversion before sending live traffic.
  • Double-check that payouts are being recorded correctly when using dynamic tokens.
  • For unsupported networks, create a custom template to save time in the future.

Example Use Case

Imagine you’re running a campaign with three networks. Without templates, you’d need to build custom offer URLs and postbacks for each. With templates, setup takes minutes, and you can be confident conversions will track correctly across all networks.

In summary, Affiliate Network Templates in CPV tracker (CPV Lab or CPV One) simplify integration, improve accuracy, and reduce the chance of errors. They make it possible to scale campaigns across multiple networks quickly and reliably.
